About the Project
I embarked on an exciting project that led me to build something from scratch. My goal was to create an Asian food delivery brand from the ground up, a business that would stand out for its uniqueness and quality in delivering delicious dishes. But that wasn't all; I also had the additional challenge of designing a custom app for this brand.
I envisioned every aspect of the brand, from the name and logo to the colors and aesthetics that would convey the essence of Asian cuisine and the delivery experience we were aiming to offer. It was an exhilarating process, filled with market research, sketches, and testing, but each step brought me closer to my vision.
App Design
In the initial stage, we worked on shaping the app's architecture to ensure an intuitive flow. I collaborated closely with a colleague who specializes in architectural information and programming to make sure the flow was correct.
We embarked on a qualitative primary research journey. Our group consisted of five individuals spanning different age groups, from the 22-year-olds to older participants. Then we created one of the initial prototypes and promptly tested it with users
The findings: The previous study that we conducted indicates to us that users, when using the prototype app, actually save time when ordering food, but they would like certain aspects improved. For this reason, the following changes in priority were implemented:
Filters: To improve personalized searches.
Combo section: Quick dish selection.
Specials: Favorite recommendations.
Now direction: Updated address.
User icon: Quick profile edit.
Notifications, cart, orders: User priority actions
Hamburger icon: Quick settings edit
Delivery tab: Switch to pick up option.
It's worth noting that during this process, user personas and empathy maps were also created to guide us through iterations until we reached the final outcome.
